We at boofey.com have tried and tested all the usual ways to remove or at least reduce the dust and hair problems when scanning from film.  The problem is bigger than it was when printing from film negatives as modern scanners detect and record 'everything' on your film.

We thought about the issue - and a few years ago developed the 'revolutionary' BOOFLET film cleaner. 

• It is based on the ‘best practice’ techniques as used in many major industries to control dust problems.
• We have engineered a design that uses very soft rubber rollers to collect the dust.
• They collect the hairs, debris and fluff from both sides of your negatives and un-mounted slides - before you scan your images.
• Our anti-static device can also reduce the static charge that may be present on the film.
• By using the BOOFLET cleaner - it cleans the media before it goes into your scanner  - so having clean film at the beginning means that a much reduced quanitity of dust gets inside your scanner!
